Ledgent Finance & Accounting is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist for a temp-to-hire opportunity in Sacramento. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about accuracy and compliance in payroll operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Process multi-state payroll accurately and on time.
  • Validate timecards, pay codes, and PTO entries for compliance.
  • Handle payroll adjustments, garnishments, and terminations.
  • Maintain payroll records and generate audit reports.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to resolve discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of payroll experience (multi-state preferred).
  • Proficiency with payroll systems (ADP, Paychex, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of wage and hour laws, tax regulations, and compliance standards.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.

Compensation & Benefits
